Community links and partnerships

The school community involves more than just students and teachers; it encompasses anyone involved with the school or its members.  For example, family/whanau, local store owners, cleaners and bus drivers to name a few.  Ensuring that your wider school community members feel a part of the school and support your initiatives is important.

With regards to physical safety/injury prevention, positive changes in behaviour are far more likely when a student goes home to a family that support physical safety/injury prevention, and to a community where physical safety/injury prevention are paramount.  The links below provide information on how to work with your wider school community to promote physical safety/injury prevention.

For sustainable change, it is also important to embed physical safety/injury prevention messages and practices into Curriculum, teaching and learning and School organisation and ethos.
