School organisation and ethos

A school ethos that supports and demonstrates physical activity behaviours is important in order to create positive change.  Policies and procedures should support physical activity, and schools should ensure active transport options and active play are promoted.

For sustainable change, it is also important to embed physical activity messages and practices into Curriculum, teaching and learning, and Community links and partnerships.

To see examples of schools supporting physical activity, check out our case studies section, and be sure to look through our resources for links to free toolkits, posters, books and other information to support your physical activity programme.
